Cortijo Piedra’s excellent location gives you a choice of more than 20 golf courses and its proximity to Malaga and Granada offers a wide variety of restaurants, shopping centres, and historical monuments such as the Alhambra palace. It is an excellent base for a range of activities such as:

Skiing: 1 hour 20 minutes’ drive from the famous Sierra Nevadas, where you can ski or snow board from November through to April.
Beaches: There are many lovely beaches along the coast on the Costa del Sol, some only a 30 min drive away. The stunning Lake Iznajar is also just a 20min drive.
Golf: Antequera golf course is 30 minutes away, this is an 18-hole par 72 course with amazing views over El Torcal.Places of interest: The old provincial centres of Archidona and Loja are less than 20 mins away. Gibraltar is around 2 hours and Portugal 4 hours away. Antiquera with lots of interesting architecture is only 25min drive. Cordoba with its famous Holy Cathedral, a former Mosque of Cordoba is 1 hour 10 min by car.

Airports: The Nearest Airports are Malaga airport just 40 minutes’ drive and Granada airport 30 minutes’ drive both with excellent access roads. 
There is a good choice of schools locally and good bus links to Malaga and the surrounding towns. There is also an excellent Spanish class nearby!
